Paul “Chip” Ferguson is an experienced and accomplished Beaumont personal injury lawyer who has handled cases across the United States over the course of his career, obtaining numerous record-setting verdicts along the way—including some that have been listed in the “Top 100 Verdicts” list by Verdict Search and “Top 10 Verdicts” by Lawyers USA. His work has led to justice for injury victims and recalls of dangerous products. Mr. Ferguson has had over 60 verdicts and settlements equal to or exceeding $1 million and over 10 exceeding $10 million. He is passionate, dedicated, and committed to serving his community in Southeast Texas with the highest possible standard of injury advocacy.


Passion for Community Involvement & Giving Back

When he is not working, Mr. Ferguson loves spending time with his wife Michelle and their eight children and three grandchildren. He is also highly committed to spending time giving back, serving as the sole benefactor of the Ferguson Sports Foundation, which he also runs. He is the former vice president of the “R” Association, past member of the Beaumont Country Club Board of Directors, and previously served as member and officer of the West End Little League’s Executive Committee. He is also a financial supporter of All Saints Episcopal School, which named its outdoor sports complex in his honor.


His career in NCAA baseball for the Rice University Owls led to his induction in the Rice Hall of Fame and receiving of the Distinguished ‘R’ Award. The university’s press box at Reckling Park is named for him. He gave the single largest donation in school history to Rice’s athletic endowment in 1999, and a matching fund was created using some of these funds for the Gene Hackerman Scholarship for Women’s Athletics. Mr. Ferguson also received the inaugural “Q Award” for his “quality sportsmanship in youth sports. His wife Michelle is involved in Girls Haven, an organization that provides safe house facilities for girls in danger.

Background & Education

Mr. Ferguson grew up in Alvin, Texas and obtained his B.A. from Rice University in Houston, Texas before obtaining his J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center. He received his board certification in personal injury trial law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1990.
